Drywalling sucks

Freaky Lakeview power plant encounter

Andrea and I, just by total coincidence, were driving back to Toronto along the lakeshore and decided to stop at the Lakeview generating plant earlier this year the exact day before the smokestacks were scheduled for demo. Freaky! There were about a million jackasses with D70s there, which is generally a good indication that you're looking at something you don't need to photograph. Nevertheless, voila.

Agency test day

I shot a camera test for a new print agency a couple of weeks ago, and here are a few pictures I like from the day. A camera test is like a test shoot for a model but on a larger scale, where you generally have a bunch of new or amateur models and you do a basic set of pictures for each so that the agency can gauge whether they want to invest in developing them as clients. It's exhausting but pretty fun. Casting is one of my favourite parts of putting a shoot together and this kind of thing has a lot of the same appeal.

The reno continues

For any of you keeping track of the state of my house, you'll be interested to know that I now have walls and ceilings in 100% of the rooms. (Wait -- update: I literally just walked into one room without walls and went "Oh shit, I forgot this one")

Dark Helmet vs. Scarborough

My aforementioned houseguest Trevor has a childhood friend back in Scarborough with both a taste for fringe pop culture and a longstanding interest in elaborate homemade Halloween costumes.
